Whoa, two blog posts in twenty-four hours? This is unheard of!

Jokes aside, I wanted to let you guys know what’s going on. After all, some of you may have seen the following tweet earlier:

Now, I know for a fact that, for a few of you at least, this sparked some interest. And, looking at the blog, you’ll probably not see any differences to begin with but that is most definitely where you’re wrong!

For a while now, I have been stuck in a ditch, so to speak, where I have not been happy with this blog. It’s probably shown what with a lack of posts (albeit that being mostly due to the large amount of university work I’ve had to do) and not really communicating with, well, anyone – despite that being a goal for me this year. Seven months into the year and I have to say, I’m not happy with this blog at all.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely proud of some of the content I produce and publish onto here. Other works…maybe not so much. But the work I am proud of tends to go a little unnoticed and this is what brings me to the changes.

The biggest change, really, is the sharing button. As demonstrated by the picture below, I’ve made it so it’s easier for you guys to share any posts onto your favourite social media sites. Whether it’s Facebook or Twitter or Reddit or, heck, even Google+ – if you like a post all you have to do is click a button and you can share it to wherever. So much easier, right?

Speaking of social media, I’ve also changed the featured social media sites that you have been able to access in the top left corner for a while now. Previously, it was my Twitter and a dead Instagram page specifically for the blog (which has now been deleted due to inactivity). Now, you can access not only my Twitter feed, but my personal Instagram feed and now a little Tumblr dedicated for this blog, because, trust me, you don’t need my personal one clogging up your dashboards.

That’s not the only change I’ve made to make it easier for you to either 1) keep up with the blog or 2) get in touch with me. I’ve also made a change with the contact forms on the Contact page so that whenever they are filled in, the submissions go to an email that’s not my personal one. I thought this would be a smart move considering I’ve managed to lose an email that contained someone’s interest to collaborate amongst emails from various different retail outlets and other pure crap. I definitely don’t want to be seen as being ignorant, so that’s a new important change for sure! (Also, apologies to whoever that was – if you’re still interested in collaborating, feel free to send me another email!)

Blogging is a big hobby of mine and I do wish I could do more surrounding it. This blog is like my child and by god, do I wish I could help it grow, but at the moment, that’s simply not feasible. To run this blog to the standard I want to would mean I’d have to spend at least £31 per month, something that I simply cannot afford to do as a current undergraduate. So, here is the plan.

I’m going to aim and get even more content out. I know this is something I say on a regular basis, but it’s something that I’ve been thinking about a lot recently. For certain series, I’m going to start to do episodic reviews. I will be starting to cover anime news in general and giving my opinion on these stories. It’s true, I’m probably trying to do too much, but the amount of time I usually put into blogging is like having a second part-time job. I might as well try and make the whole thing the highest quality I can.

But I’m not stopping there. Oh, no.

what

“What’s that?” I hear you ask. Well, that would be the current header of my (albeit very empty, plain and boring) second blog, where I’ll be covering posts about travel and food – two of my other big passions. I’m currently putting it on a trial run, for I don’t know how well it’ll run with me managing this blog as my main one, but– I have a reason for doing this.

Watching anime during term time is time consuming. Sure, I watch a couple of hours of it during my time at my university’s Anime Society but with another society to run next year, a part time job and simply being a final year things are going to be tough. Not only that, but with next year being my final year at university, I want to be able to explore areas of the city that I haven’t had chance to explore yet. And I’m going to be honest here, that’s a lot of places.

If things go well with FF&W, I’ll be giving it its own space. I’ll make sure that posts from that blog don’t get into the same feeds as posts from AG&HA. At the end of the day, both blogs are aimed at two different groups of people, they can’t be merged. But, as I’ve previously stated, it’s currently on a trial run and I’ll keep you guys updated on what’s happening.

If I’m completely honest, I just want to spend time exploring new mediums and new ideas. I want to be able to have good, solid examples of my written work for when I start applying for postgraduate courses, as well as in the future when I pursue a career. Heck, I’ve even considered using my YouTube channel again (but there’s only really one video I have an idea to make at the moment and certain people apparently can’t keep their opinions about my channel to themselves, so…).

That’s all I have to say for the time being, but if any of you have any ideas on ways I can improve this blog, let me know! I’m always keen to hear what you guys have to say!

Until next time!
