Time, dude, slow down!

It really doesn’t feel like it’s been a year since I wrote the post for AGAHA’s 2nd anniversary, but here I am writing the post of its third anniversary. Time really does fly by. It’s a little bit scary if I’m honest.

Like I said last year, I can’t believe I’ve managed to stick to this for so long. Perhaps it’s because it’s just a little hobby of mine and, although I take it seriously, I don’t take itΒ too seriously. I have fun whilst doing it and that’s the main thing! If I was doing this as a full-time job, although that sounds like an absolute dream, I’m sure I would lose the motivation to write at some point.

I think this past year has definitely been the hardest for me, personally. Since this time last year, I’ve graduated from university, got a job and moved to the other side of the world for said job. I have had smiles and laughter, tantrums and tears, but there has always been a constant or two throughout all of this. The first? Anime. No matter what I’ve been feeling that day, I can always trust anime to cheer me up. The second? You guys. As cheesy as it may seem, you guys are always so supportive of, not just me, but everyone in this community. I absolutely love it. I may not have been so active during the first few months of me being in China, sure, but I always kept an eye on things from the sidelines and seeing everyone support each other made me so happy.

Reaching the third year of blogging has really motivated me. I want to make A Girl & Her Anime better. I want to write better posts. I want to make it look better. (This is also known as going through all posts, updating them and making them look better too. This might take a while…) Not only that, but I also want to try new things. For the past three years, I’ve mostly stuck to the same sort of things and whilst it works, I want to experiment! I guess I’ve already started this to some extent by doing episodic reviews ofΒ this seasons’ Fruits Basket and by finally delving into the world of manga and making content on that, but I really hope my experimenting doesn’t stop there.

Something I’ve wanted to do for ages, for example, isΒ finally going to happen. I can say for sure that I will be starting A Girl & Her Anime’s YouTube channel properly once I return to the UK in a couple of months time. This is something that I’ve been putting off for quite some time, but doing vlogs for my other blogging project – Mochadesk – has definitely given me the confidence and the encouragement to make some video content for here as well.

The past year has been a bit of a weird one, but it still deserves to be celebrated. So, in true A Girl & Her Anime fashion, I’ve got a week’s worth of daily posting lined up. Although, unlike last year, it will be during the actual celebratory week. Thank goodness for Spring vacations!

Before I end this post, I just wanted to say thank you all so much for continuing to read my posts, for continuing to share your opinions and discussing things, and for being such a great bunch of people as always!

Here’s to lasting yet another year!

  1. Conga-rats! The 3rd anniversary is a big one – you’ve exceeded the normal half life of anime blogs by a good margin!

  2. Congratulations. Keeping anything going for three years is quite an achievement. On to the next three!

  3. “Time really does fly by. It’s a little bit scary if I’m honest.”

The older you get? The faster it goes. I’m still stunned it’s 2019… I remember meetings where a consultant was trying to tell us that our computer systems were doomed when 1999 rolled into 2000…

“I want to make A Girl & Her Anime better. I want to write better posts. I want to make it look better. ”

Those are awesome goals! Spoken like a true writer.

Good luck! You’re more brave than I am!

Yup, completely true. Never believed my parents and my grandparents when they said this when I was younger, but it’s completely true.

Thank you for your lovely comment! c:
