At the start of my third-year anniversary celebrations (well, technically before they even started!), I announced on Twitter that I was hoping to do a quick little Q&A as part of the celebrations.

Luckily for me, I did get a few questions from you guys and so, in today’s post, I’m going to be answering them! I don’t really want to ramble in this introduction for once, so I’m just going to dive straight into the questions.

On Twitter, Matija from tfwanime asked:

“Do you have a particular genre of anime that you just love watching more than the others?”

I would have to say – yes. Definitely.

I tend to hover towards the slice-of-life, drama, romance sort of anime than any other sort of anime. I just find them so enjoyable to watch, especially if they have wholesome, romantic moments in them. I’m a sucker for romance, haha. However, that being said, I have been trying to try different genres out recently. Over the course of my recent vacation, for example, I watched Highschool of the Dead – a show I didn’t even want to touch with a ten-foot pole before. I think it’s good to try new things and mix things up a little bit, and that’s why I tend to – especially recently – set myself some anime challenges. Completing the challenges are sometimes difficult, but they force you to watch genres you wouldn’t usually watch and that’s why I like doing them so much.

Another question on Twitter came from Rayz from mirrorpurple:

Life in China.

Oh, boy. Where do I start with this one?

Life in China has been challenging to say the least. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had plenty of good times here, however, there’s been some pretty low points as well. I’m glad I moved and worked here as it’s allowed me to explore a culture and a country I’ve always been fascinated with, but my god it can be stressful at times. I’ll be making some blog posts about this topic after I move back to the UK this summer, so I don’t really want to go too in-depth here. What I will say is – it’s been an interesting experience, but I am so looking forward to going back home and experiencing new things over there! (I certainly have a few plans up my sleeve, that’s for sure…)

And, finally, over at Instagram, I got a question from the lovely Lita over at LitaKinoAnimeCorner:

Who would you like to do a future collaboration with?

I’m glad you asked! I actually wanted to address this in my actual 3rd-anniversary post, but I, uh, forgot…

I think collaborations are really cool! They’re always super interesting to read. Saying that, however, I haven’t actually done any collaborations! Well, I mean, I guess the fabulous guest posts that I’ve had on this blog from time to time is a form of collaborating and I have done a collaboration with a company before now, but I haven’t actually done any collaborations with other anime bloggers!

In my aforementioned 3rd anniversary post, I said I wanted to try new things and I sincerely hope that collaborating with other bloggers can be one of those things. If any of you wish to collaborate with me, then just send me a DM or contact me by e-mail! (Although, I do check Twitter more often than my emails lately, so probably just send me a DM there…)

And, sadly, that brings this tiny Q&A session to an end! Thanks to the lovely people who sent me a question – you should all definitely check them out because they’re all awesome!

With the end of this post comes the end of the 3rd year anniversary celebrations as well! Thanks to everyone who’s helped me celebrate this past week or so. You really have been putting smiles on my face every time you leave a like or a comment, so thank you!

It’s back to my usual scheduling now, so I hope to see you around!

Until next time!

  1. Nice little Q&A post Amelia. Intriguing about the plans you have for when you come back to the UK. It’s May, yet it feels like it’s August for some reason…

Anyway, can’t wait to see what you have in store once you’re back!.
