It’s August, the height of summer. What better time to be nominated for this award than now, ay? I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award and that means I have a load of questions to answer.
I don’t really know if the Sunshine Blogger Award suits me or not. I try to be positive, I really do, but then a lot of the shows I watch don’t allow me to be positive on here. Perhaps I’m the British summer of blogs. It tries to be sunny, but it always ends up with rain instead. Nevertheless, a big thank you to Fred over at au natural for nominating me! I do like a good blogger tag.

As with any blogger tag, there are of course some rules to follow. So, let’s take a quick look at them, shall we?
- Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog so that other people can visit them.
- Answer the 11 questions put to you by the nominator.
- Nominate 11 bloggers of your choosing and provide them with a new set of 11 questions to answer.
(Bent this rule a little bit…) - Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts.
(And I bent this one too…) - List the rules and display The Sunshine Blogger Award logo within your post or on your blog site.
That all seems easy enough. (Although 11 nominees? Crikey…) Let’s follow the instructions and get down to the questions, then! Fred has certainly prepared some interesting ones…
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
That’s a good one. I usually hear ‘guilty pleasure’ being mentioned when the topic of music is being discussed, or film, or TV… But a topic hasn’t really been selected here, so I’ll just go with the flow. A good old guilty pleasure of mine is probably purposefully watching sub-par anime. We’re talking ratings of 6 or below on MyAnimeList. There are shows like this scattered all over my blog, particularly in my seasonal “What am I watching posts?”. This season, I think it’s definitely Try Knights which has taken my guilty pleasure spot, although that’s only based on a single episode. My friends definitely know my taste as being ‘bad’, that’s for sure, but hey – sometimes people are genuinely missing out on a good time!

Do you have a favourite pet species? Cat, dog, or…?
Now, see, this is a hard one. I love dogs, I really do, but I always tend to be quite hesitant when I’m close to one. I have never had a pet dog myself, which is probably why I am so hesitant, but I do find myself nervous around my relatives’ dogs, for example. Cats, again, I’ve never owned, but an old friend of mine had cats and they were lovely too. The only pets I’ve had myself have been fish, which aren’t particularly exciting, although I absolutely loved my fish Bowie. He was a legend. Saying that, I’m probably going to have to say a guinea pig or a rabbit for my favourite pet species. They’re smaller than dogs yet they definitely have big personalities and I think that’s what I like the most about them. Not to mention how fluffy they are!
What was the last anime you watched to the end and you wish you hadn’t? Why?
Definitely Bartender. It took me so long to actually get the motivation to finish this one and it’s only eleven episodes! I mentioned it in my Spring vacation wrap-up post and, after finishing the show, my opinion certainly hasn’t changed. It’s the same formula every episode, making it extremely repetitive, the animation isn’t great, the voice acting is bad… A complete snoozefest.

You are invited to a party and cosplay is encouraged but not required. What are you likely to wear?
Cosplay, of course! I love cosplaying and I will take any excuse to struggle with make-up and wigs. I don’t really know what I would cosplay, but I definitely need to come up with some new ideas anyway, now that I’m getting rid of my Love Live! and Danganronpa cosplays. I probably won’t be going to a con (or a cosplay party!) anytime soon, but if anyone has any suggestions for me, let me know!
You’ve been made responsible for the entertainment. It will be a 12-hour marathon of anime. What do you select?
Oh, boy. This question is taking me back to my university days, for sure. I thought anime event planning was behind me, but clearly not! It’s clearly not a 12-hour marathon just for me, right? I’m guessing other people need to be engaged as well, so I’m probbaly just going to follow my recommendations for mystery anime during last year’s Anime For All series! Mystery anime really do make for good watching, in my opinion. Not only that, but the timings work perfectly! ERASED would only take four and a half hours, Made in Abyss would take it up to just under ten hours and Paprika would make it eleven and a half hours! For the remaining time, I’d probably throw in some Hetalia as well. Mostly for my own enterainment, but also because each episode is five minutes long. Very easy to fit in!

You’ve been elected to handle intoxicating refreshments for 20 people all night and they give you a blank cheque to do it. You don’t get to keep the extra. (Inebriated people will NOT be allowed to drive home and it is in California so, in theory, cannabis-related stuff is possible.) What do you get?
Oh, gosh. I’m not good with alcohol. Personally, I get a peach schnaps and lemonade or a vodka and lemonade and that’s it. I’m not ambitious when it comes to drinking. That being said, I do love a good cocktail and there are plenty of cocktails out there. There’s definitely something for everyone, so, with the blank cheque, I would probably hire a mixologist to handle the drinks instead. The 20 people can order what they want without me having to do any guess work. It seems like the lazy way out, but definitely the more practical with me around.
Are you a designated driver or will you need to use a designated driver?
A little bit of both. I can remember once I turned 18, a lot of my college friends were calling me the ‘desi’. It acted as a bit of a joke, but there was some truth in there as they were definitely more into their drinking than I am! (In the UK, we can, of course, drink at the age of 18.) And this thinking, really, continued into my university days. Although none of us had to drive, I was still the responsible figure in the group, making sure people got out of bushes and into their homes. That being said, I can’t actually drive and so I would have to rely on someone else to take me home as well, so… Yeah. A bit of both.

A very large cake is delivered anonymously. It sounds like there is someone inside. Nobody running the party had any notice of this. The top has ‘Happy Birthday, John!’ (or Jane) written on it with flowers and gifts on the side. The card says ‘Love Mary Ann’, but there is no Mary Ann at the party. There is a John (or a Jane) who might be having a birthday today. The delivery guy is waiting for a signature and the buck gets passed to you. What do you do?
In an ideal world, I would rush to find John (or Jane) and curiously ask when their birthday is before signing anything, but this delivery guy sounds impatient, so I probably wouldn’t have time for that… There is, at least, a John (or a Jane) at the party, so why not just accept the cake? There’s someone stuck inside, I don’t think they’d want to be in there any longer. I can imagine it’s quite clastrophobic. Sounds like a big cake, so there should be enough to feed the guests and, hey, if the cake isn’t for our party, the more the merrier, right? If it goes horribly wrong, at least we could potentially laugh about it later.
Oh, shit! The internet and cable just went down! What do you do instead?
With guests at a party? Well, hopefully I would have Spotify Premium. Offline listening, yeah? Very handy! (You can definitely tell I listen to the adverts non-stop these days, can’t you?) Play music, give them food and drink. Play drinking games! They always seem to be popular with me and my friends!

The party is getting kind of wild. You notice discarded costume pieces and undies laying about, people in the yard’s pool who didn’t bring swimwear and there’s a police officer at the door with a noise complaint. What do you do?
Sounds like it’s time to send some people home with a designated driver…
How bad is your hangover the next day?
Probably not too bad because I don’t drink that much! Plus, I did have to deal with impatient delivery guys and police officers, so I probably sobered up quite a few times throughout the night anyway, by the sounds of it…
So, I’ve done the easy things now! Time to go on to the more difficult task of nominating 11 other people and to come up with 11 questions…
Well, the 11 lovely people who I’ve decided to nominate are the ones behind these blogs:
- KAWAIIPAPERPANDAS
- A Japanese Garden of Words
- A Nerdy Perspective
- Pinkie’s Pokémon
- A Fan of a Certain Age
- A Fictional Bookworm
- Rachel’s Reviews
- Bloom Reviews
- Cute Boys Central
- Phoenix Talks Pop Culture Japan
Okay, so that was 10 people, but 10 is such a nice, round number…

Don’t fret if you’ve already done the tag! I did try to do some searching to figure out who had already done it, but sometimes it’s quite tricky to do so! Again, there’s no problem if you just don’t want to do it! I understand completely if you just don’t like doing tags like these. Consider it as free promo, as I clearly think you’re amazing!
And now, for the questions!
- If you were a Pokémon, what sort of Pokémon would you be?
- Do you play video games? If so, what game have you been playing recently?
- What’s your favourite colour? Any particular reason why it’s your favourite?
- What’s your favourite thing to do during summer?
- Ghibli is obviously very popular, but which movie do you think is the most overrated?
- If you could travel back in time, when would you travel to and why?
- As the new leader of a country, what is the first law you introduce?
- Have you been reading anything recently?
- Tell us about your favourite film.
- Put your music on shuffle. What are the first three songs to play?
- If you were to suggest an anime I had to watch, what would you recommend?
Apart from bending the rules a little bit, I do believe that’s everything I need to do! Meaning that’s the end of another blog award! Thanks again to Fred at au natural for nominating me for the award.
I’ll look forward to (hopefully) reading the answersto my questions soon!
Until next time!

Congrats on the award! I said it earlier this week, your blog is awesome, and you definitely deserve this! 😊Loved your answers, especially the one for the 12 hour anime Marathon. You can never go wrong with Erased 😊
Thanks so much! 😁 I’m glad you agree with my anime choices!
Omg thank you for the nomination. It will be a bit hard to find 11 new bloggers but I will go do my best in the very near future. Got a busy week coming up so it might be a bit late. Loved your questions and the theme running through them.
Take your time if need be! I know that finding so many bloggers is hard – it’s the hardest part of blog awards for me! 😅 You definitely deserved to be nominated though!
Thank you so so much for nominating me!💜 I’ve been meaning to watch Made in Abyss for what feels like forever XD
No problem! You deserve it! And Made in Abyss is definitely worth the watch if you ever find the time!
Amusing read haha when I read peach snaps and vodka oh that made me recall a memory I never want to where lita got drunk for the first time 😂😂
Your answer to party questions were so relatable, although I’m probably a bit wilder if I were to answer. Thank you for the tag, I’ll start working on it ASAP!!
