The Korean pop music scene has been constantly changing since its cocneption. Nowadays, produced tracks can contain influences from rock, jazz, gospel, R&B, dance, country, folk amongst many others. It's a music scene full of experiments. However, with experimenting comes a series of ups and downs. Today, I'm going to be exploring K-Pop with the last decade in mind. Why? Well, it's certainly been an adventure.
The album in question is the new album of Ohashi Trio, a Japanese singer-songwriter and composer. Yet, from what I can tell, he's far from your typical image of a singer-songwriter. His talents know no limits, for he can play the guitar, bass, piano and drums. His music is all based around jazz and acoustic music and he's been featured in various different dramas and advertisements.
For those who don't know, last month I introduced a new segment here on A Girl & Her Anime called Fandom Friday - a chance for you to spread the word about talented people in the anime, gaming or K-Pop communities! For the first edition, I'm going to be introducing you to an anime music producer!
SHINee have just reached their tenth anniversary this week and, although I somewhat refuse to believe that they've been around ten years, I thought I'd celebrate it by giving you my top ten SHINee songs!
Touhou is one of those gaming franchises that you've most likely heard of once or twice, but never really gone out-of-the-way to find out what it's all about. Touhou has become an integral part of Japanese internet culture, and this success is due in no small part to the incredible covers and remixes of Zun's original compositions.
If you've been watching the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, you've probably come across some incredible sounding music already, especially if you watched the outstanding Opening Ceremony. But what are those songs? I'm here to introduce you to the world of K-Pop!
The following will be an emotional mess but I'm not going to apologise and, as a devoted fan of SHINee for over five years now, I shouldn't have to. I'm not expecting many people to read this, but even if you didn't know who he was, I'd appreciate it if you could read just a little bit.
No party is complete without a super duper cool playlist to jam out to. Whether you're the chef or a guest, music can definitely make or break a party, so I've compiled a little playlist of all of the best anime Christmas songs so you can entertain your anime-loving guests all Christmas long!
There She Is!! is a Korean Flash cartoon series based on a Korean comic strip called 어떤날 - literally One Day - which was published between November 2000 and March 2002 on a Braille newspaper. It follows the story of an anthropomorphic bunny and cat who are in a relationship together in a world where such relationships are a taboo.
It's the start of a new month, which means it's time to see what I've been listening to over the past four weeks! This month has seen more Japanese tracks being added to my favourites, balancing out the excessive amount of K-Pop from last month. So, what tracks have I been liking this month?
